The Association for Palliative Medicine of Great Britain and Ireland (APM) stands as one of the world’s largest representative bodies for medical and healthcare professionals engaged in palliative medicine. With a global membership exceeding 1400, the APM advocates for palliative care professionals, particularly in the context of ICU palliative care. Membership is accessible to doctors, medical professionals, and undergraduates, promoting collaborative research and amplifying the voices of our members worldwide.

The Palliative Care in Critical Care (PCiCC) and the End-of-Life and Palliative Care in the ICU Research Network (EPCIN) are joining forces, uniting for a greater impact in the field of ICU palliative care.
PCiCC brings hands-on, frontline experience—sharing pragmatic approaches, real-world challenges, and lessons learned from delivering palliative medicine in the ICU while building working relationships to enhance care. EPCIN drives forward discussion on peer-reviewed evidence, shares researcher insights, and provides a platform for collaborative research in end-of-life and palliative care in the ICU.
The two organizations overlap and intertwine, and together, they are two interlocking pieces of the same puzzle, working towards the same goal: sharing knowledge to advance ICU-based palliative care for patients, families, and healthcare professionals alike.
